Haiti Needs Our Help!

I am reposting an email from World Food Programme (WFP). Haiti needs our help! An earthquake measuring 7 on the Richter scale rocked the country last night. As a result, hundreds of people were killed and many were left homeless. As part of initial relief operations, WFP is sending high energy biscuits to the Haiti survivors. More details (including a video found on Youtube) and ways to help below.

Dear all,

If I’ve not already wished you a happy new year, then please accept my warm wishes now!

Unfortunately for Haiti, the new year has started disastrously – their country was rocked by an earthquake last night measuring 7 on the Richter scale, and killing hundreds and leaving many homeless. Millions are in urgent need of assistance.

World Food Programme was fortunately already on the ground in Haiti, and we have extensive stocks of emergency food that we’re able to ship across.  Additionally, because many houses have been destroyed, and people have no access to cooking facilities, we will focus on the distribution of high energy biscuits in the initial phase of this emergency operation.

Would you please use your Blogger against Hunger linked blogs, to write about the emergency and post a link to our donation form: https://www.wfp.org/donate/haiti

Additionally, you can find banners here: http://www.wfp.org/how-to-help/community/link-us#haiti

Feel free to contact me for any questions!

Warmest regards,
