Lola Abon’s is famous for its durian candies. I bought some during my first visit to Davao in 2007 and I loved it. The place is a candy lover’s paradise that one would be tempted to buy all the store’s offerings. The sweet confusion of a buyer wanting it all was a good memory. Going back here this June was made memorable again by Lola Abon’s durian ice cream.
You may say it’s a teeny-weeny cup for 20 pesos but every spoonful is so worth it! It’s very sweet and creamy and true to the taste of durian–minus the weird smell. So when you come here, be sure to buy not just durian’s candy version but it’s ice cream “reincarnation” as well!
Lola Abon’s is located at 23 San Miguel Village Matina, Davao City, Davao Del Sur.
